Accessibility
This statement explains how we approach accessibility in Ellerna, where we fall short today, and how to reach us.
Last updated September 24, 2026
Our commitment
Ellerna is used by directors, educators and families with many different needs. We want everyone to be able to use it, and we treat accessibility as part of building every page.
The standard we work toward
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. This is our target; Ellerna has not been independently audited against it yet.
What we do
- Pages use headings, landmarks and labelled form fields so screen readers can navigate them.
- Interactive elements can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
- Every public page has a “Skip to content” link.
- We check text colour contrast in both the light and dark appearance.
- Layouts adapt from large screens down to phones, and text can be zoomed to 200%.
- Icons that carry meaning have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- We use clear, plain language in labels, buttons and messages.
Known limitations
Some parts of Ellerna may not yet fully meet our target, for example charts on dashboards and photos uploaded by users, which may not have text descriptions. We are working to improve them. If something stops you from using Ellerna, please tell us.
Feedback and help
If you find an accessibility barrier, or need information in a different format, email support@ellerna.com with the subject “Accessibility”. Tell us the page and what happened, and we will work with you to find a solution.
